Vocational high school – focus on social pedagogy
In addition to the general education subjects, the subjects of pedagogy/psychology, business administration and economics, information processing and the subject of practical training are added. In the second half of the introductory phase, you also choose your five examination subjects for the Abitur (school leaving examination). The subsequent two-year qualification phase is not divided into school years, but into four semesters. The classes are taught in courses, each of which lasts one semester. The qualification phase ends after four semesters with the Abitur examination.
The Berufliches Gymnasium Gesundheit und Soziales, Schwerpunkt Sozialpadagogik (Vocational High School Health and Social Services, focus on social pedagogy) offers a vocational focus with the profile subject pedagogy/psychology, which teaches, among other things, the following contents: Significance of socialization, upbringing and education for the human development process, opportunities and limits of personality development.

With the successful attendance of the vocational high school the general university entrance qualification is acquired.

Vocational high school for health and social services, focus on social pedagogy
This two-year specialized secondary school is a secondary school with the aim of broadening the students' general education, imparting job-related knowledge and skills and leading them to the ability to study. In grade 11, classes are held on two school days per week; on the other three days, an internship with a total duration of 960 hours is carried out in social institutions. In grade 12, classes are held on five school days per week. As part of the course, students take an ECDL exam (European Computer Driving License).

Social pedagogical assistant (grade 1 and 2)
The training as a social pedagogical assistant aims at an educational supporting activity with children and adolescents with or without disabilities in social pedagogical institutions.
The Berufsfachschule Sozialpadagogische Assistenz is a school type that qualifies students for the following occupations. The vocational school is responsible for training. During the two-year course, practical training is provided in daycare centers and kindergartens for a total of 840 hours (working time per week: 16 hours in total, corresponding to eight hours per practical day). Sei- tential entrants have 600 hours to complete. This training is organized parallel to school (three days school/two days practice). Students choose their training institution independently. Inform the school before the start of the training.
