What else should we do? Women's support? CO2 balances? Reduce fleet consumption? And then also sustainability? Can we please work and earn money at some point too? Here you go, no problem. Sustainability is the still underestimated success factor in companies. It is already clear that in five to ten years there will be no economic success that is not based on sustainability.
Today, sustainability is still a wild card, helps in the fight for skilled workers and the love of customers. In the near future, sustainability is already indispensable.
Social expert Michael Carl dispels the misconception that sustainability is merely about waste separation, image cultivation or a beautifully designed CSR report that is thoroughly hidden on the company website. Sustainability is the starting point for a fundamental transformation of companies, in terms of products, marketing and sales as well as corporate culture.
In his presentation "Business plan sustainability: No success without sustainability", Michael Carl shows how the needs of customers are changing and thus driving the trend towards more sustainability. It is precisely the banks, financial institutions and insurance that demand sustainable models.
Michael Carl likes to draw the following plausible comparison in his sustainability lecture: Al Capone never got justice for murder and extortion. Only when the administrative machine started up did he end up behind bars for tax evasion. It will be very similar with sustainability: If no one else pushes it, in the end it will be the balance sheet auditors of the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority who enforce sustainable business models. The auditors coerce the banks, and the banks in turn coerce the companies, so the thesis stands: In five to ten years, there will no longer be any significant economic success that is not based on sustainable principles. How do we want to work after Corona. How we want to live? How do we want to do business successfully in the future, how do we communicate – and what does our post-pandemic life look like?? This is our greatest opportunity! The 20s begin with a crisis. Crises will remain our mode. This is good news! We already know of at least three crises that are coming our way in the decade of crises: The development of work, the changes in demographics and, finally, the climate crisis. A unique opportunity for development and design!
