Curled parrot feathers fall out. Why do parrot feathers fall out

Parrot beak diseaseMost owners of parrots sooner or later notice that the pet falls feathers. Most often it is a matter of the parrot feathers fell on his head. This event is the basis of the owners' excitement, because the bird in such a condition looks very painful.

Fortunately, falling feathers are not always associated with a serious disease. Very often parrots go through a typical biological process – molting. The essence of molting is to replace the old feathers with newer ones. In case of natural molting, there should be no bare spots visible on the bird. About the passage of this process indicate only fallen feathers.

During the moult the parrot does not lose its ability to fly. The rotting occurs a few times a year. For most breeds, it is difficult to pinpoint a specific chronological period when the bird melts down. Most often the change of feathers occurs gradually. For the normal person imperceptible.

In addition to the loss of feathers, the disease is characterized by the formation of gray or white growth on the wax or legs. These growths have a hollow porous structure. In addition to the head can be bare spots on the back. Belly can be localized. Scaly redness is visible on the skin at the same time.

In some cases, you can specify exactly what time of year the parrot changes its plumage. Before moulting the bird often behaves sad or restless.

There are many other reasons why feathers fall out of a parrot. Sometimes the cause of the loss of feathers can be a nervous shock. To provoke a loss of feathers can be, for example, a great fear – change of owner or moving to another house. The parrot can also cause anxiety, loud noises or sudden movements. After the animal calms down, the number of feathers returns to normal. A parrot can fall out due to a lack of vitamins. Nutrients in the diet feathers on the head lose. Usually the cause of baldness is a deficiency of vitamins A and B. In general, it is necessary to consult a doctor to determine the cause of the loss of feathers by a bird. Only he can determine the true picture of what is happening by analyzing the analyses.

So, if there are numerous traces of blood on the feathers of a parrot, small "torn" holes and spots are a characteristic sign of infection of a bird with mites. In this case you must show the parrot to the vet immediately.

Ticks cause severe itching in birds and cause shedding. If you do not carry out effective and timely treatment, the disease can lead to the death of a parrot. For the treatment of ticks. Fungi used antiseptics. For example, bathing a bird in chamomile broth has a good effect on the condition of the plumage.

Finally, it should be noted that the reason for the loss of feathers may be another bird that is in a cage with a parrot – the female or the male. Sometimes the reason for the loss of feathers can be extremely banal. In this case, it is desirable that the birds spread away from each other.

They complain that their wards have feather loss. This fact makes you seriously worried, because the bird without feathers looks extremely painful. In this article we will talk about the probable causes of feather loss in parrots, consider the main methods of treatment and prevention of such an unpleasant phenomenon, but looking ahead, I would like to say that feather loss in most cases is a normal biological process. Continue reading .

Natural molting

It is an absolutely normal biological process when old, weak feathers are replaced by new and strong ones. In this case, the loss of feathers and their replacement occurs evenly, you will not see any bare spots, only the old feathers that fell into the cage. The parrot can fly. There is a natural molt 1-2 times a year. In some breeds, it is not possible to distinguish the time frame – feathers are constantly being updated gradually, with most of these changes becoming visible over time. Behavioral changes are also observed: the restless or dull parrot.

Shock molt

Another reason why the parrot falls feathers. These birds are very shy. Any stress can affect their body. One of these stress manifestations is the loss of plumage. Usually occurs when there is a severe fright when a bird is given to a new owner who is startled by a loud noise or some type of action.

Signs of shock are feather loss in clumps, usually in the tail area or in small cover feathers. When the bird calms down, it usually returns again.

Beriberi

Lack of vitamins in the body – this is another equally common cause of feather loss. They directly affect the growth of plumage, claws, the general condition of the bird. If the body does not have enough vitamin, this will inevitably have an effect.

Usually avitaminosis affects parrots with a diet that is not varied, when the daily diet contains few cereals, no vegetables, vegetables and fruits, which must be present. Recommends to get acquainted with the necessary vitamins. What kind of vegetables we can give a parrot, we have described here and with what fruits to spoil a bird.

Vitamin preparations are sold in pet pharmacies.

Diseases transmitted by fungi and ticks

Fungi and mites that fall, take root and multiply on the skin of a parrot are very damaging to the bird. Feathers begin to fall out, bare skin patches appear.

You also need to check the legs, beak and wax for the above symptoms.

Hormonal disorders

Hormones are substances that in very small doses have a tremendous influence on the organism of a parrot and even a human being. There are several hormones that endocrine glands produce. We will not go far, let's analyze the most important ones: these are the thyroid and pituitary glands.

Violations of plumage growth occur as a result of the absence of a certain hormone or its excess.

When the thyroid gland produces little hormone thyroxine or iodine. The veterinarian prescribes replacement therapy accordingly.

Unfortunately, if there is a malfunction of the pituitary gland (manifested by abundant prolapse), this disease is poorly curable or not curable at all.

French molt

Curled parrot feathers fall out. why do parrot feathers fall out?

This is a serious disease that manifests itself in chicks at an early age, mostly in curly parrots. It is characterized by a complete loss of flight and tail feathers before the chicks are removed from the nest or shortly after departure. As a result, naked chicks can not fly and move, jumping and using a beak on the ground.

The exact causes of the occurrence can not be named. Veterinarians suggest that French molting develops as a result of inadequate protein intake, since not all chicks with broods are susceptible to disease and sick chicks have lower protein levels than healthy ones.

With proper care and nutrition, the parrot can not be distinguished from the healthy ones.

It is also important to note that the disease can be inherited. That is, it is not advisable to use parrots that had diseases or where there were cases of non-healthy offspring to breed in the future.

Hopefully, you now know why the parrot has feathers, and you can call for help in time if it is a disease.

After examination of its feathers can be obtained a lot of information about the state of health of the bird. In some cases, molting is a normal natural phenomenon that is seasonal in nature.

However, if you experience severe feather loss in a parrot that is not due to seasonal molting, you need to determine the reasons for this abnormality, which may indicate serious disease in your pet.

Veterinarians often complain that feathers fall out of a parrot. What to do and how to prevent the recurrence of the situation, the expert will say, but to do this you need to determine the etiology of the symptoms. The fact is that in many cases it is sufficient to eliminate provoking factors, which are sufficient to normalize the condition of the bird.

Curled parrot feathers fall out. why do parrot feathers fall out

Thus, the loss of feathers may be accompanied by a natural molt, which may occur every 4-6 months. If the bird is properly cared for, the loss of feathers is not so great. Against the background of periodic molting, there are no violations of the behavior of feathered.

Feather loss may be associated with the following factors:

Wavy parrot feathers fall out. why do parrot feathers fall out?

– Displaced stress In this case, the feathers also fall out in bunches. It will be possible to correct the situation with the help of improved nutrition and additional warming of the bird under the lamp. This prevents colds in the animal. Lack of vitamins. Nutrients. Owners who use the same food for a long time are familiar with parrot baldness. It is possible to prevent the loss of feathers by diluting the usual diet with apples, carrots, egg yolks and multivitamins for birds. – Infection with a fungus or a tick. Identify such factors is quite simple, because the loss of feathers in this case is accompanied by the appearance of ulcers, desquamation and scabs. Feathers and cells are covered with bloody spots and holes. In this case, the bird is constantly itching and trying to pull feathers. – A hormonal disorder familiar to first-hand individuals living without a mate. Parrot owners can watch how the bird picks the feathers by itself. – French molt, which is recognized as a fairly serious condition. Bird baldness is not accompanied by the appearance of new feathers, which is the main symptom of this disease. At the same time, the appearance of undeveloped feathers with blood stains around the perch can be observed. Veterinarians claim that such injuries are associated with an overfilling of the animal's body with vitamin A and a deficiency of certain nutrients.

If the parrot has a massive loss of feathers, you need to assess the ecological situation in which the pet lives. Environmental baldness can therefore be caused by:

– cell closing; – unfavorable air environment; – wrong lighting; – allergic reactions.

It may be necessary to replace the parrot's cage, which is in the familiar enclosure from which it has already grown, to eliminate the disturbing symptoms. You must also monitor the maintenance of adequate humidity and remember that birds do not tolerate the smell of tobacco smoke and air fresheners.

If you choose lighting equipment, which is located next to the parrot, you need to give up fluorescent lamps and flickering devices that can cause constant stress.

You also need to track down after which the loss of feathers from a pet began. Possibly this was preceded by a change in the filler or the usual feed, and new ingredients triggered an allergic reaction.

If the change in external factors has not contributed to the improvement of the status of the birds, you should contact the veterinarian to obtain a thorough diagnosis, determine the causes of the disease and arrange effective treatment.

Only French skins can't be cured. Therefore, all parrot owners are strongly recommended to follow the diet of their pets so that the content of vitamins such as A, K and E in it is balanced.

With regard to the treatment of fungal diseases and the removal of ticks, the appointment of therapy should be made only by a specialist. In this case you need to use special sprays. Use regular combing.

8. November 2013

When the budgie feathers fall, you will notice it immediately. But don't be in a hurry to worry. Try to figure out, maybe the reason is not so scary.

Moult

If you have taken a young budgie, do not worry if he falls out of feathers. At the age of 3 to 12 monthsthey transform the baby plumage into an adult outfit.

Adult parrots also shed their skin. change the feathers once or twice a yearOthers are constantly losing old feathers and growing new ones. During a moult, parrots sometimes feel uncomfortable, on the contrary, become anxious or apathetic. If you notice something similar, pay attention to drafts of your pet and supplement the diet products that facilitate the detachment (cabbage, eggshells, vitamins, mineral supplements).

In indoor environments, excessive molting may occur. In this case the parrot drinks a lot. Makes much more fun after airing.

It is important to note that a curled parrot falls feathers naturally and does not notice any visible signs on it. bald spots, bare skin. Fallen feathers look normal, free of defects and blood. The mixture of grains for parrots should be balanced. Consist of several components. Be sure to vary your pet's diet with fresh herbs, vegetables and fruits, mineral stone, chalk. Lack of vitamins and mineralsin the diet of the budgie can cause feathers to fall out.

If a curly-haired parrot has feathers, perhaps endocrine jelly interruptedh If you have thyroid problems, the veterinarian may prescribe medication. But if the reason for the loss of feathers is in the pituitary dysfunction, the parrot is not cured. This ie is not well understood.

Stress

Do not be alarmed if feather buds fall out of the budgie during a change of residence. After a while the bird gets used to you and stops. Moving and the arrival of a new host for parrots is a great stress.

bald, irritated, scaly skin

flaking of wax and beak

fallen feathers look bitten and frayed

strange spots on feathers

Developmental defect

Chicks just emerging from the nest are susceptible to the disease. Birds all fly and tail feathers fall out, they can not fly. The reasons for this are not fully understood. Perhaps the reason for the lack of vitamins. proteins in food. There is a genetic predisposition. With the help of an improved vitamin diet in sick chicks, the plumage can be restored. However, the sick birds and their parents should be excluded from breeding.

According to breeders, the loss of feathers on the body of the feathers is a common phenomenon. Parrot – a creature is capricious and sensitive. The body of talkative birds reacts violently to physical and emotional changes.

What causes baldness? The reasons for the loss of feathers could be divided into three groups.

Medical ies

There are no sweat glands on the skin of parrots, the skin can be easily shifted in different directions. What is the predisposition to the various diseases of the subcutaneous tie and epidermis? Wavy parrots, lovebirds and masked parrots are particularly prone to skin pathologies.

Skin diseases of talkative pets are difficult to cure. Birds itch a lot and tend to peck at itchy spots, causing chronic irritation.

We should not forget that loss of feathers in parrots has natural causes (spillage). Owners need to be able to distinguish when a bird is falling and when it is getting sick. Signs of disease in parrots appear immediately on the first day and the symptoms proceed as follows:

1. Starts loose stool. 2. The parrot refuses to eat. 3. Peeling areas visible on the skin, similar to dandruff. 4. Fallen feathers are dark, bloody footprints can be seen on the site. 5. Beautiful plumage on chest and back becomes dull and brittle. The bird looks disheveled.

Natural moulting does not leave any traces. All skin diseases that cause feather loss differ in etiology and symptomatology. Ornithologists consider the following diseases as common complaints:

problems with hormonal background. Hormones are very important for bird health. The parrot has two organs involved in hormonal development: the pituitary gland and the thyroid gland. Once injury occurs to one of them – growth of feathers slows, they begin to fall out.

Hormonal disturbances occur in addition to baldness with a general darkening of the plumage and a decrease in bird weight. In this case, the veterinarian can only normalize the thyroid gland by assigning therapeutic measures to the bird. But to cope with pituitary diseases is no longer possible.

French moult Severe disease in young parrots. After 3.5 to 4 weeks of life in birds, flight and tail feathers (on the wings and tail) begin to fall abundantly.

The bird, which could survive, can no longer fly to the end of life (new feathers do not grow). It moves in short jumps or leaps. Such parrots are called "runners called.

Causes of incurable disease vets include the following factors:

– With early egg laying. – Transmitted infectious diseases. – Use of sick birds for reproduction. – Unfavorable breeding conditions for birds. – Stress development in birds due to long, exhausting trips. Lay numerous eggs. Breeding more than twice per season. – Feeds containing large amounts of vitamin A and the minimum amount of vitamins K and E.

If the parrot is sick, carefully surround the bird and create optimal conditions for its existence. Special attention should be paid to the owner of the diet and breeding of sick parrots.

Infections transmitted by fungi and ticks. Extremely dangerous diseases in feathered pets. Ticks, fungal spores that appear on the skin of parrots cause profuse loss of feathers and peeling of the epidermis. Sores and growths appear on the surface of the skin. Symptoms of pathology:

– Emptying and cracking the legs of birds. – The skin of the calf is inflamed, there are red spots on it. – The parrot becomes messy, confused and ill. – In the area of the beak, on the head and on the growing starts peeling. – Fallen feathers look shaggy, with crooked, messy tips. – Loss of feathers occurs unevenly (glabrous hairs are on the paps, back, or neck).

Doctors fighting ticks are prescribed more often than Aversectin ointment. This means that the bird must be treated for 3-4 months. Must have with all accessories. Bypass bird cage. It is better to use neostamazan (½ liter of water, one ampoule). After disinfection, the cage and toys are doused with boiling water and dried.

Drugs are sprayed at a distance of 20-25 cm from the bird for 2-3 seconds. Try not to please the parrot in the eyes, ears, beak and nose. A new treatment is prescribed after 1-1.5 weeks.

From popular methods to get rid of the disease helps tincture of pharmaceutical chamomile or wormwood. Healing chamomile baths also prove beneficial for the pet's buddy. Do not forget to thoroughly process the apartment birds and accessories.

Natural causes

In parrots, feathers change for natural reasons. The bird throws off, this process is called "regeneration" called. If the animal is alert and cheerful, eats well, plays – the bald hair on the sides of the pet owner should not be disturbed. Molt of parrots is divided into two types:

Juvenile When a young bird reaches 1.5 to 3 months of age, the first molt in life occurs. The exact arrival depends on the breed. To the conditions of keeping a winged pet from. The change of feathers in young birds tells that the chick has entered puberty.

The juvenile molt ends safely after 2 to 2.5 months. Parrot, updated his outfit, proudly called adult bird.

The first molt of parrots is the most difficult – because the birds encounter this for the first time. Feathers fall out abundantly. Form large frightening piles. In the pet changes behavior – it becomes irritable, aggressive, bites the person and sits, curled, offended in all the world.

This behavior is normal, but if the owner notices loose stools, bloody feathers and loss of appetite, you should contact your veterinarian.

Periodically. The change in feathers is also observed in adult birds. Typically feathered melting after nesting (breeding season). It is possible to understand that the female is ready to breed depending on the color of the wax (area above the beak). Normally the color of this part of the body is cool (white, blue).

Ceres – hormone-dependent organ, with increasing levels of sex hormones, its color changes, becomes dark, almost brown. The surface above ceramics is also changing, becoming rough, convex and shrinking. This change in females is a natural and normal phenomenon.

The birds occur 1-2 times a year. Birds react to a change in plumage with a slight rise in temperature and a change in mood (the parrot becomes lethargic, phlegmatic and passive). To facilitate the process of molting and reduce this unpleasant time, veterinarians advise the owner:

1. Increase humidity in the room where the bird lives. 2. Go to a special food designed for molting parrots. 3. Feed the parrot a balanced diet during the molting period that includes vegetables, greens, sprouted grains and animal squirrels. 4. Diversify your diet with minerals and multivitamins. During this period, the bird needs calcium in particular. Give your pet vitamins in liquid form (except Radostina). 5. Give the parrot the opportunity to perform regular water procedures.

Content errors

After the feathered pets started, the owner must learn all the nuances of behavior and habits of cheerful, talkative birds. Parrot – a social creature that requires attention and communication. This bird is sensitive to changes in the habitual behavior of the owner and the rest of the apartment. Feathered balding can occur for the following reasons:

– Boredom, when the parrot has spent a long time alone, without fun and toys in a cage. – Swearing, bad mood among households. Social birds react sharply to the manifestations of negativity! – Bad food. Due to the lack of vitamins in the diet (especially B and A) parrot loses feathers and hair on the forehead and around the eyes. – Smoking It is forbidden to smoke cigarettes and use aerosols (hairspray, air fresheners) near the birds. – Excess or lack of light. – Closing cell

In the constantly hot room of the birds begins permanent moulting. To regulate, to restore normal body temperature, the birds throw their feathers. It is easy to diagnose such a problem – pay attention to the noticeable recovery of pets after airing the room, an increased interest in water procedures.

For all the above reasons, the poor inhabitants of the cage begin to flush feathers themselves with the subsequent urge to eat them. This is a real disaster that is very difficult to stop. Parrots die if urgent action is not taken to improve content.

Breeders recommend the use of a special collar during rehabilitation, which does not allow the parrot to tear out feathers. The collar can be independently cut through the middle of two dense halves with a hole 3-5 cm in diameter (depending on the size of the animal) or bought independently.

Such a "decoration bird" Must carry 8-10 months. To make it more comfortable for a pet to eat and drink, the water bottle should be hung higher and closer to the perch. The collar is withdrawn when the parrot completely restores plumage. While carrying, make sure that the reasons that lead to this behavior are eliminated.

And be prepared for relapses. Some birds return to self-salting after 2-3 months. In this case, the collar must wear out again, not 1.5-2 years.

Stress conditions

Favorite birds become abundantly bald due to negative, exciting situations that lead to the occurrence of shock in birds. Causes of shock molting:

– Strong anxiety – master change. – Rough treatment – constant loud noises. – Moving to a new home. – Catch feathered hands by force.

Rough actions of owner cause severe fright when abruptly picking up a new parrot not yet used to or grabbing a bird while sleeping. During shock mutiny, the animal loses part of the feathers in one part of the calf (usually the top feathers or tail feathers fall out).

Plumage will soon grow, but attention should be paid to the bird during this difficult time. Protect the parrot from shocks. Provide your pet with a full ration. Activate in the menu products that favorably affect the growth of feathers: Vitamins with calcium, eggshells and cabbage.

We treat your favorite birds

What to do if the parrot loses abundant plumage and turns into a pathetic naked carcass? Before you decide to have pet birds, the future owner should study the rules of keeping parrots and ensure their complete existence. And at the first signs of the disease immediately contact a veterinarian.

In adequate and competent treatment of parrots can be used only an experienced doctor. The advice of experts and not the self-confidence of the owner will help to put the bird in order!

The subtleties of caring for friendly and fun winged pets depend on the breed of parrot, the size of the bird and the characteristics of its habitat in natural conditions. However, there are a number of general principles, the fulfillment of which the owner will allow the pet to live comfortably and healthily. Before you buy a parrot, prepare for its appearance:

– Spacious cage. For active birds, the dimensions of the apartment should start with 40 x 25 x 30 cm (this is the minimum). The larger the bird, the larger the house – the bird must be able to move freely around the house without touching the branches. – Feeding trough, bath and drinker. It is advisable to buy a pair of containers for food – for soft and grain food. The best material is porcelain or plastic. The bath is needed in the heat – after each bath change the water and clean the container. – chalk for feathered, various sticks, sand. Perch catch up with others, better from solid wood species (birch, oak, maple). The best diameter is 1.5-2 cm. Mel provides the bird with calcium and helps to undermine the beak. And the sand is poured into the pan – it is necessary for good digestion (the sand can be poured into a separate tub). – Toys (rustling, ringing, be sure to get a mirror). If the pet plans to live separately, a mirror is needed. – The menu should include: Grain mixture, deciduous tree branches (linden, aspen, hazel, rowan). Vegetables, cottage cheese products, fruit and chicken eggs. herbs (parsley, dill, sorrel, lettuce, dandelion stems). In winter, spoil your pet with sprouted grain (let us sprout in portions and immediately remove the remnants).

We go for the parrot. When you buy a future pet, carefully examine the bird. Healthy feathered, strong and curious, with clean plumage without a hint of baldness. Beak smooth without defects. The eyes are not swollen, clear. A feel-good bird does not cough or sneeze. It is better to buy young chicks – they will quickly get used to the new living conditions.

We have a cage. Do not install your pet's home near drafts and heaters, preferably at head level.

It is impossible! Place a cage in the kitchen and install it near household appliances (computer, oven, TV, microwave, refrigerator).

The parrot's home should be well lit by sunlight, but do not use the light-covering part of the house with a cloth, so that the parrot can hide. For the feathers, the optimal air temperature is + 20-25 ° C. When choosing a cage size, be guided by the bird's breed:

Care Provide the talkative animal with clean, unboiled water. Change the water daily. Watering bowls, feeders rinse well every day, clean the cage every day. And order a general cleanup every month, after a global cleaning process and accommodation of chamomile. Twice a year will be cage. Accessories treated with neostomosan. After disinfection, surfaces are rinsed with chamomile decoction and well ventilated. At the time of cleaning deposited the birds in a separate room. Let the birds fly in the room every day (keep the windows closed). If the parrot is on the street in winter, it is doomed to death.

Prevention

Any disease is easier to produce than to treat. In addition to regular grooming, the owner should constantly inspect and observe the playful birds. Dramatic change in behavior, coughing, apathy, heavy breathing, loss of appetite are the reason for an immediate visit to the doctor. Each owner must be present and have a first aid kit consisting of:

– Potassium permanganate. – Baking soda. – Boric acid – pharmacy chamomile. – Activated carbon. – Carry spare cell. – Hydrogen peroxide (3%). – Pipettes and containers for solutions. – Narrow band-aid, absorbent cotton and bandage. – Sterilized vegetable oil. – Sodium citrate (Stroud's solution). – Burn agent (ointment or spray). – Curved nail scissors or pliers (for processing the beak). Solid shavings for the size of the legs. Wings (in case of temporary fracture).

Remember! Parrot diseases are difficult to diagnose. Is performed only by experienced specialists. Self-treatment can worsen the condition of your beloved pet and lead to death. Therefore, at all manifestations of the disease, take the parrot in the carrier and rush to the vet.

Only the doctor will explain what to give the bird, how to treat it and what medications to use.

Write down the following information on a piece of paper before going to the doctor. The doctor will definitely ask about it – this information will help to more accurately determine the cause of the feathered disease:

1. Age of the animal 2. Where it is contained (aviary, cage). 3. What diseases have already suffered a pet. 4. At the first signs of the disease noticed. 5. When and under what conditions the parrot was bought. 6. Participation in feathered exhibitions. If yes, when and where. 7. What is the parrot's diet (name of food, additives, vitamins)? The cause of abundant baldness is the inadequate. Monotonous feeding of feathered pets. Falling feathers cause a lack of beneficial trace elements in the poultry feed. The Buddy should be given vitamins regularly, but this should be done after a vet visit and only on their recommendation.

Attention! Synthetic vitamin preparations must not be given to birds if:

– The first molt – During treatment (if immunomodulators are used). – When the veterinarian diagnoses pathology of the pancreas, liver, tumors and diabetes.

Lack of vitamins negatively affects the bird's physical health, egg laying and general condition. Look at the parrot, what does it look like?

Vitamin A (Retinol)

Disturbed growth of feathery, tearing eyes. Abundant baldness. Abnormal bone growth.

Group B vitamins

B1: The parrot constantly tilts backwards, convulsions begin, paralysis of the paws, liquid stool

The development of problems in the work of internal organs (liver and pancreas suffers)

B2: dysplasia, mucus, diarrhea. Crusts form on the beak and legs, feathers fall out

B6, B12: the parrot loses weight quickly, moves poorly, loses activity, there is abundant baldness

Deformed legs, curved beak and joints, growth is disturbed

Baldness, parrot looks disheveled and unkempt. Parrot sluggish, often lies on the bottom of the cage

Mental disorders The bird becomes aggressive, plucks feathers

Now there is a wide range of vitamins for parrots in pet shops. Among them are dangerous additives that are deadly (the bird dies with an excess of iodine, phosphorus). This happens when the owner easily contributes vitamins in large quantities to the diet of birds.

When and what vitamins to give your beloved pet, the doctor will tell you. Veterinarians do not recommend feeding poultry, whose diet is saturated with all necessary additives. The best vitamins for parrots are:

Gamavit Ornithologists recommend buying an additive in liquid form (in the composition there are vitamins and amino acids). Do not add the drug for more than 8-10 days in a row. Vita-Sol 8in1 Ulhra-Vite. The multivitamin complex is intended to maintain the health of sick birds. It is recommended to give droplets dissolved in water (at 30 ml 1.5-2 drops). Beaphar. The drug increases. Strengthens immunity of birds. The prescribed dose of 3-4 drops per 30 ml of water for 1.5-2 weeks. BeapharTrink + FitBirds. The drug is prescribed when a bird lacks vitamin C. The preparation returns the parrot luxurious bright plumage and strengthens the musculoskeletal system. Recommended dose: 10-15 drops in 20-30 ml of water.

Prohibited supplements. Among experienced owners and breeders of parrots, the vitamin complex Radostin (Vitasil or Antistress) received many negative reviews. Due to too high a dose of trace elements in parrots, the absorption of radostin affects the liver. The probability of strong allergic reactions is high.

Such vitamin complexes (as well as all others) should be included in the diet of the feathered only after prior consultation with an experienced ornithologist!

Do not worry if feathers suddenly fall out of the feathered pet. A timely visit to the vet will solve all the problems of the beloved bird. Subject to attention. Regular care of the owner.
