While a second Corona wave and the possible consequences are still being discussed here, other countries have long since reached such repeated output restrictions. This was also the case in Kazakhstan, where Corona measures were lifted in mid-May, but rapidly rising infection rates led to a second lockdown in July. The country's health care system has reached its limits. Medical equipment, hospital places, even masks became a scarce commodity. To date, there are over 134000 confirmed cases in Kazakhstan, according to the World Health Organization.
When our employee Irina Schneider learns that her parents are among the infected, she decides to help. It quickly becomes clear that the situation in the town of Semei in eastern Kazakhstan, where her parents live, is more than precarious. "I thought we have exactly what is urgently needed in Kazakhstan in our company and approached our Managing Director Martin Haas" explains Irina Schneider and is pleased about the quick promise to support her. After a veritable odyssey through the cross-border bureaucracy, with the help of the "Hope for Kazakhstan" association and courageous local decision-makers, she manages to get the vital shipment on its way.
