Prof. Dr. Pia Wulfing
I am a physician (gynecologist) and have specialized in breast cancer for 20 years. In the breast centers where I worked, I was in charge of the oncology department, i.e. I took care of the medical tumor therapy, chemotherapy, anti-hormone therapy, antibody therapy, studies, etc., and was responsible for the treatment of breast cancer. cared. I have also been intensively involved in research on the topic of breast cancer. The topic of my habilitation was the development of new drugs against breast cancer.
The idea behind PINK! is based on my many years of clinical experience. In my initial consultations, I have noticed time and again that my patients, in their great distress, search the Internet for information that will give them stability until their most pressing questions are answered at the breast center. However, this really often results in more confusion. Uncertainty as comfort or clarity. Many patients (and also their relatives) feel overwhelmed and left alone. And in the hectic of the clinic's daily routine, there is usually too little time for detailed conversations and attention. I remember only too well how much a cancer diagnosis can burden a family: When I was 9 years old, my mother was diagnosed with cancer. I myself am a mother of two children.
