Tree diseases which are there that is to be considered

Tree diseases – hire the professionalTree diseases can damage a tree so severely that it must be cut down. It is therefore all the more important to act in good time. An overview of widespread tree diseases, how to recognize them and which measures are recommended, can be found here.

Tree diseases are mostly caused by fungi, bacteria and in rare cases also by viruses. An improper location, inadequate care and unfavorable weather conditions promote tree diseases. They reduce the tree's defenses so that microorganisms and pests have an easy time and can cause the typical damage to the wood and leaves. In this case, it is important to act quickly so that the tree disease does not spread further. With the right care measures, you can also effectively prevent. Significantly reduce the risk of developing many tree diseases. Samsbaum will be happy to advise you and take care of all the necessary maintenance work, so that your trees remain healthy throughout the year and pests cannot harm them.

Prevention and early detection of tree diseases

Tree care

Regular tree care keeps trees healthy in the long term and saves costs. The tree can be protected from diseases.

Dead wood removal

Climbing, we cut dead branches from a diameter of 3 cm out of the tree with a handsaw.

Tree felling

Tree felling is very important in some cases, especially if the tree is no longer healthy.

Tree inspection

By inspecting trees, we can detect damage that is hazardous to health and traffic, and we can take necessary measures to keep traffic safe.

Care concepts

Sam's maintenance concept ensures long-term cost transparency, traffic safety and a healthy environment.

Leaf spot disease

Many tree diseases are accompanied by spots on the leaves. Depending on the nature of the spots, they may give an indication of what specific disease is involved: In leaf blight, the spots are small and reddish-brown, while in scab they become progressively larger over time. If the spots erupt gradually, leaving small, irregular holes, it is probably shotgun disease.

The list of possible causes of leaf spot diseases is long, as fungi, bacteria and viruses can all act as triggers. Pests that eat the leaves or extract their cell sap can also leave stains on the leaves. If the tree is affected by a leaf spot disease, you should carefully remove already infested foliage – also foliage lying on the ground, because this often serves the pathogens as winter quarters. These leaves are therefore not at all suitable for composting.

Diseases caused by fungi or bacteria

While leaf spot diseases can be caused by a wide variety of microorganisms, there are also some tree diseases for which only fungi or only bacteria are responsible. Diseases in which fungi serve as triggers are:

– Powdery mildew (common in maple, oak, chestnut and willow) – Spire drought (also called twig monilia) – Wilt disease (maple, chestnut, trumpet tree are particularly commonly affected)

Fire blight and bacterial blight, which are primarily found in fruit trees, are caused by bacteria. Both tree diseases pose a serious threat to the tree. In fire blight, the leaves look like they have been burned, while the leaf changes in bacterial blight are very similar to those in shotgun disease. However, additional changes that occur on the tree bark are more indicative of bacterial blight.
